The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests. Each meeting is a half-day "mini-conference" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners.

Green Leaf Plants is a wholesale grower and distributor of decorative and ornamental plants in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They have been using lean for many years to streamline their processes, which can be highly variable and labor-intensive. Cindy Myers, Human Resource and Administrative Manager at Green Leaf, will describe the company's progress on its continuing lean journey.
Ed Kestel, Director of Manufacturing-Technical Operations for Orbital Sciences, will provide an introduction to Hoshin Planning (commonly referred to as Policy Deployment) and detail his company's approach to the system that links high level business strategy with small group goals across all functions and levels of the business enterprise.
Jeff Fuchs, Executive Director of the Maryland World Class Consortia, will describe lessons learned to accelerate and increase lean transformation success - learnings gleaned through nearly two decades of work with the MWCC. The themes will focus on culture, capability, and motivation.
